sexta-feira 13

May 15, 2011

Friday 13th is regarded by many people as the very opposite of holyness and purity. Well, as for me, I wouldn’t mind even a bit to cross paths with a black cat …

This superstition of bad luck coming from who knows what (or why) somehow reminds me of how miserable we like to believe we are. The main difference is that by acting miserably we actually make our lives a lot worse. It’s not just a matter of luck or not – by constantly throwing away your opportunities of succeeding, what good will ever come of that?

I believe that if luck was actually a characteristic  owned by people, they should be able to throw a coin 1000 times and always guess  the outcome!

Moving on  towards the end … Because there are those out there who actually enjoy magic and witches (themes),  here’s the OP from Umineko no Naku Koro ni (うみねこのなく頃に, lit. When the Seagulls Cry). Besides being a murder mystery dōjin, it’s interesting to see how detective stories and magic mix up well.
